Actúa como expectorante, gracias su alto contenido de mucílagos y ácido silícico, es muy beneficioso en problemas de las vías respiratorias altas, tales como tos, bronquitis, asma y otros.
Muy favorable en problemas digestivos (diarrea, disentería, gastritis, úlceras, hemorragias, hemorroides, colon irritable).
Es un diurético natural, limpia los riñones.
El llantén posee propiedades astringentes y antisépticas, por lo que es recomendado en heridas, hemorragias, llagas, ampollas y raspones.
Es un desinflamante natural, producidas por algún golpe o contusión.
También se usa para lavados vaginales.
Modos de uso:
Como infusión: Añade 4 cucharadas de llantén en un litro de agua muy caliente (recién hervida), cubre el recipiente y deja reposar durante 5 minutos. Tomar 3 veces al día.
Como desinflamante: Lavar bien un puñado de llantén y escurrirlas, luego se muele en un mortero hasta formar una pasta, colocarla directamente sobre la lesión, dejar actuar durante 30 minutos y por último, enjuagar con abundante agua, secar y reposar.
Para lavado vaginal: Hacer una infusión de llantén, dejar enfriar y realizar el lavado.
